Encouraging employers to create diversity

There are many benefits to creating diversity in the workforce. Companies need to make sure their employees feel connected with their colleagues, and that they are always encouraged to do their best. Creating a diverse workforce environment means that there will be an increase in creativity, client relations will be increased, and employee morale will also be increased. Many organizations are not embracing workforce diversity because they are unaware of the numerous benefits that workforce diversity brings. what are some other reason why employers may not want to create diversity in their workforce?

Some personal experience...

I personally worked at a place where all the employees were South Asian. Everything we did was pretty much similar, how we produced things and how we organized things. We even spoke in Hindi or Urdu, then our manager decided to hire a girl from Mexico. She adjusted to the South Asian environment very quickly. She had new methods of doing things, and we learned a lot from her, which made a significant improvement in the business later on. Therefore, our employer started hiring people that were a minority, which helped in communicating with customers who were not fluent or did not speak English.  This made our business customer friendly for individual who spoke languages other than English.

Facing challenges

For many people accepting other people from a different culture is not a big issue because they adapt to change very quickly, for others this might be a problem.They will be inclined to harass and discriminate because some people just can't cope with foreigners working in "their" country. But, many employers have stepped forward and started taking action by embracing and accepting diversity which is a start towards unification. They have also taken a zero-tolerance approach towards harassment and discrimination by creating apprenticeship programs for foreign trained professionals.what are some ways businesses can decrease harassment and discrimination in the workforce?

The Workplace is going to look different...

Inside the workplace, the environment look and feel very different because of the increasing workplace diversity in approximately the next decade or so. There will be people from different cultures and background, and this needs to be understood, and accepted throughout the organization.  Potential employees want to make sure they will be treated fairly regardless of their race or ethnicity. In the workforce, the workers will have a boss, or colleague that wont look like them, but everyone has to accept and respect that.They will bring new ideas, new ethics, and different modes of communication methods.

Competition in the business world

Statistics Canada states that almost half of the workforce will be born in a foreign country or at least have one parent from another country. This means that people grow in households where the cultural ideas are different, which just might bring new great ideas to the table and provide tangible and intangible benefits to the organization. In metropolitan areas the minority will no longer be considered minority, in fact they will be the majority in the next decade or so, because the population will double in many major cities in Canada. Every business will be hiring minority because of the many qualities they will bring to the organization. what are some qualities that will increase the demand for workforce diversity?

Successful Businesses

Bringing more diversity into your business makes your business more successful. How? First of all people from different cultures and backgrounds bring in different ideas, they may not be better ideas, but they are unique. This helps when we are encountering new methods to solve problems or issues in our company.This increases the talent a company can have, because it increases productivity and competition amongst different companies. Companies that learn to employ people because of their differences will be more successful in the future.

Statistics have shown that the workforce diversity has grown by quite a huge factor as we enter the 21st century. We have noticed that workforce diversity has increased in huge amounts. The most successful organizations have the most diversity in their workforce. Diversity is viewed as an amazing source to make your business more successful.Workplace diversity has become essential in every business, because new people bring new ideas. It is clear that companies that have greater diversity in their organizations are at a  more advantage then those who do not have as much diversity in their organizations. The greatest advantage of diverse workforce is the different types of experiences they have as assets.
